Replacing Head Gasket on 2006 X5 3.0

Dear All,

I am a newbie on this forum, and need help with instructions on how to replace the "head gasket" in my 2006 X5 3.0. I did an oil change and tune-up at 116K miles, and I realized at the time of changing 5th and 6th spark plugs there was a little oil residue on both sparks plug - which I figured may be a head gasket leak. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I don't think you have a head gasket issue. It's most likely the spark plug tube seals. You can get a new valve cover gasket witht the spark plug tube seals from Pelican Parts online. Here is the link. Pelican Parts - BMW Parts and Accessories Catalog
This is an easy job you can do yourself. My valve cover gasket started leaking at about 75,000 miles.
