![]() WELLL... Today i was in a hurry and leaving a gas station i ran over one of those metal drain things where trucks pour gas in ... and it didnt feel like i hit it hard or anything just a little bump but i ended up stopping for some other reason and heard a PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I was like oh ***** its my tire..then i was like oh wait its the SLS. SLS inactive came up.... later i kept driving (bouncy ride) and my car still looked like it was slammed. ( when parked i hear a pssssssss like it was trying to pump it back up but no give.) In a while later, then i noticed the code didnt pop up. when i got home my car was back at its original stance...... Any ideas experiences help? Thanks! ![]() Last edited by pezho405; 10-14-2011 at 08:41 AM. |

My advice is to get a bottle of windex or use a spray bottle filled with some dish soap and water. Spray the air bag on the wheel on the side where you hit and look for bubbles. If you see bubbles you know it is a leak and can proceed to replace the bag. No bubbles you head down a different path to solve. Good Luck

I HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM MY BACK PASSANGER SIDE SPRING WENT, IT COST ME £250 AND IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. IT STARTS OF NOT TO NOTICEABLE BUT IF YOU LEAVE IT (LIKE I DID) IT GET WORSE. THAT PSHHHHHHHHH NOISE IS WHEN ITS PUMPING AIR BACK INTO THE SPRING TO GET IT LEVEL, BUT ITS NOT GETTING IT TO THE CORRECT LEVEL ITS LEAKING. IT WAS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE DRIVING, BOUNCING UP AND DOWN, EVENTLY THE FUSE WENT SO THE AIR NO LONGER PUMPED UP THE SUSPENSION (I didnt realise this at the time and had to drive it to the garage on three wheels! lol!) EVEN WORSE THAN BOUNCING. I WOULD GET IT REPLACED SOONER RATHER THAN LATER

Ok thanks so i checked and its defiinitley coming out of the bag...but then sometimes it holds it. How hard would it be to replace the bag myself, do i need special tools?

Do not do it yourself, this is very tricky and has a special instructions. Even dealers often do not do it right and the new bag ends up having to be replaced.

UPDATE: so my appointment to get new air spring installed is on wednsday..he said that if the pump goes out it costs 1000$ the air spring only 180$ so to stop it from running on and off i am now driving without the fuses for the SLS. all 3 of them.

why would you say that. it is one of the easiest DIY's to do. Been done a many times on this forum. the dealers run into the problem of programing not going so easy.
