Rough Ride...

2005 X5 3.0 L. 60,000 miles.

The X5 rides rough. While it was in the maintenance plan, the dealer kept on saying that the tires did not have enough tread. Now that I've replaced the tires (and the maintenance plan period is over), it still rides rough and I feel the dealer will NOW find something.

Is there something I can look for and possible fix myself?

You need to be more specific with your descriptions. These short one liners are too general. Vibrations could be from and mean anything. Everything from your rotors being shot to unbalanced wheels, off alignment, or shot bushings in the suspension. Explain thoroughly when the vibrations start, does it start when your brake, start, up a certain speed, etc.

Duly noted.

The issue does not occur at a specific time but it seems like I feel every bump in the road. I know it's the nature of the E53 to provide a feel the road (unlike say a Lexus), however I have been in other 2005 X5s and they do not seem to suffer from this issue.

Hope this explains things a little better..

Ok if the ride is really harsh like I mean you feel as if the X is bottoming out, it might be your sub frame bushings that are shot. Otherwise, that right is "Normal" I put quotes because everyone's feel is different. Also what type of tires do you have on there now?
