SES light on/2001 BMW X5 4.4, 158000 miles

I changed all O2 sensors, air filter, MAF, all spark plugs, cleaned and changed oil seperator hoses. Runs like a beast now, especially with the new MAF. Had a smoke test done and could not find any vacuum leaks at all. Only put about 35 miles on it since the new MAF was installed. I was told by mechanic to put about 100 or so miles on it because the computer will need to adjust to the new MAF and light should eventually go off. Any thoughts on that? Any ideas of other things I could do to get rid of the light?

Most people here on the site own a scanner to clear out the codes as these things (the X5) will throw a code if the wind blows too hard...lol!!
