Interesting note from ZF on Transmission Fluid Changes...
Hi there.
I'm new to the board having recently traded in my 645Cic and purchasing a 2006 X5 4.4 with 71k miles.
I'm in the car business and am really a nut for maintenance. I just had the tranny fluid replaced by my indy and we were talking about when it really should be done. He just came back from a week long Bosch seminar where they had a ZF engineer talk to the group.
ZF recommmends that the original fill should last for 100k miles. HOWEVER (and I wish I could remember the exact quote) for spirited driving or driving where climates vary greatly, plus trailer towing, it is strongly recommended that the fluid be changed every 62k miles (100k km).
Just a point of info.
