PO172 code

Hi guys, Im not on the board much, but need your input on code PO172 system too Rich, Bank 1. I have an 01 3.0 with 125k miles. Brand new MAF in spring of this year, new alternator last fall. Service Engine Soon came on today and stayed on. Car stalled twice last week when coming to a stop, but would fire right back up and drive normal. The service light was NOT on when that happened, but suddenly came on today. Do you think I may have a leak from the rubber hose of the MAF. Spark plugs have about 50k miles on them, and miles are all highway miles, 40 mile commute to work. Is it ok to drive it with the light on or should I fix the problem. Its my wifes car and she is paranoid of getting stuck in it.

PO172

Im replying to my original post from Nov 2011. Got the same code yesterday and the first time since 11/11. New plugs last month, and replaced number two coil as it was misfiring. 133k miles currently. Can someone please post as to wether or not this is the oxygen sensor or something else. I have two brand new Bosch sensors, so I am going to replace them this week.

Usually this is caused by a faulty O2 Sensor or you have injectors clogged on bank 2. First try running injector cleaner, STP Fuel Injector concentrate works well or if you've got some time Sea Foam.

Service light

in the front of the motor you should see looking down toward the right and around the same level as the fans center, as low as, but right corner you should see the part that you have to change out!!! easy fix, find the site that has all this info with pictures as well
