KW Variant Coilovers

Hey Guys
Thinking about keeping my 05 4.8iS X5 going for a few more years, and was wondering if any of you have successfully replaced the air suspension with KW Variant 3 Coiliovers.

Are the compatible with the self-levelling x5s?
And since I live in a region with tons of snow/salt would these last me a while?

Thanks for your help again!

There is a ton of threads on this. Search and you will find them.

I replaced my air suspension with Blistein HD yellow shocks and Eibach Pro springs and could not be happier.

kws are nice. not as reliable as stock but what aftermarket product is. kw is constructed of aluminum parts and the springs are powder coated so durability is very good. if you decide to go kw i wouldonly adjust them to the middle setting and that is it. you will have to reprogram your instrument cluster to not recognize the air suspension anymore. I completed the process and it was tough but def doable with the help of a few on the board

That hasn't been my experience. I have had the V1's on my 330xi for 6 years. All four shocks were leaking after 4 years and the paint has flaked off of all four springs. The springs have also sagged over time and my car now sits about 2 cm lower than it was after the first 2 years.
