Thinking about selling my x5, need some price input.
She's a 2003 X5 4.6is 120,000 Miles Navigation, Heated Seats, Xenons, comfort seats with Aluminum Trim, Fully Loaded. Integrated dice Ipod connection. LED rear tails. I have the original window sticker and maintenance records since the first ower (I'm the 2nd owner since 80,000 miles). All wheels refinished and are flawless, decent tread on the tires left. Recent service at 100k miles includes all fluids changed except transmission fluid and one of the front axles was also replaced due to wear. Drives and runs great. Service engine light periodically comes on from time to time, it's random I'm guessing an o2 sensor. What do you think is a fair price to list her at? I've attached a couple pics just so you can see what she looks like. I'd describe the overall condition as good to very good.

Wow that's a beautiful car. That's the color I wanted when I bought my '02... but, I guess all the good deals were only on white ones.
I think you wouldn't embarrass yourself at $15,000 or $16,000 asking price, expect $13 to $15 actual sale price. I've been watching them on e-bay for about a month here's a few 2003 BMW X5 | eBay |

WOW!
I was going to comment that he had a 4.6 and not a 3.0/4.4 but those ebay prices are ... ![]() That would mean couldn't get much more for my '04 4.8 if I was selling. ![]() Probably going to keep the 4.8 for life.

I am thinking about another one and the OPs car is sctually what I was thinking about. But, funds are a little tight right now. I'm in Real Estate and we are living hand to mouth a little bit right now... no problem it builds character |

Selling values are -ouch- making trade-in values laughable, same 'ol Werken cycle. keepin' mine 'til the doors fall off or the roof collapses, whichever comes first.
big surprise, lookit'm'avatar ![]() (sweet ride, btw)

Where were you last year when I was looking for one of these? Your truck is beautiful! With all the ones on the internet going so cheap, I wouldn't even think of selling mine. Honestly, I can't think of anything else I would buy for $15k.... well maybe a couple of old M cars like an E34 540i M-sport or an E30 M3! Even so, these cars can't match my 4.6is in terms of modern conveniences and AWD! I've said this before, but this time I mean it; this one's a keeper!

I love my X! I have no plans of selling the X. I've done the exercise, like most, of asking yourself what would you replace it with that's comparable in that price range - answer for me was nothing. YMMV. However, things change and life isn't fair. You can't predict the future. So, when you see/hear things like today's economy and values going down - doesn't make you feel comfortable when you think about "what if I had to sell?" Rmani, your X is beautiful. It all depends on timing. If you're not in a hurry to sell or wanting to see what the market will bear, price it higher. Then you might find the right buyer with time and/or get actual market feedback. You may decide to keep it afterall. If the case is different, then that's another story. However way you go, I wish you good luck! Last edited by TwinsPoppa; 11-29-2011 at 11:16 PM. |

Thanks for the input guys. Wow only 13-15k that's a bit less than I would have thought. I'm definitely not in a hurry to sell. I still have a few months more of payments and I'll have it paid off. It's really just that I'm going to have a 60 mile commute to work and given the price of gas it's just not economical. I absolutely love this car, the color really pops and people still think it's a relatively new car, but alas, I never use the car.
I'd rather have it to go another person who can enjoy and love it. Like I said, I'm not 100% sure yet.

There is a similar rig for sale on Ebay right now. (red). I'd keep an eye on that one and see what it goes for.
I've been searching for a 4.8is for a while now and came across several of these along the way. I can tell you that the LeMans blue seems to command a few extra dollars over the other colors so you have a plus there. To the right buyer I bet you can get $17,500 provided you have service records and the keys/manuals for it.
