4.8IS 4X4/ABS lights are on after wheel bearing change...

I removed the wheel speed sensor from the spindle, removed the spindle, changed the bearing, put it all back together and pulled out of the driveway. after 100 feet the 3 lights came on. If I shit it off they could go off but then go back on after I would move again.

I removed the sensor and cleaned it looked real dirty but the lights are still on and wont go off...

How do I reset them on a 4.8is?

Nothing was changed or disconnected at all so I dont know what the deal is...

Start the X leave it in park. Turn your steering wheel lock-to-lock then re-center.

It should reset the steering angle sensor.

Tried it, did not work. I can't seem to reset the lights, they remain on constantly. I guess I will disconnect the battery...

Try it a few times. I don't know why, but for some people, it takes a few times to work. Its always worked the first time for me.

If that doesn't work, disconnecting the battery is a good idea. You should see those lights on immediately. Then try re-setting the steering angle sensor.

I can't imagine you need any re-coding for the other sensor.

The first 3 times I drove it it was off when started, but then would come on after I moved a little. Now they stay on all the time no matter what. I have the batt disconnected now and will see what that does...

There is no sensor in the wheel bearing. It reads off the half shaft, I'm really irritated from this. I jacked it up, changed the bearing, and now this. I've spent more time trying to get these lights off then replacing the darn bearing! Doesn't make sense, why would I have a light after this if I changed nothing... Grrr!

I hear you. I'm pretty confident that re-setting the steering angle sensor should do the trick.

I disconnected the battery for 20 minutes and they are still on. I tried the steering wheel thing at least 10 times and they are still on, I've driven it many times and they are sti on all the time... Does not make sense...

Did you remove the ABS wheel speed sensor? If its bad it can cause problems too. Maybe its not connected properly or was damaged.
