Well Turbo. I just got to the same boat as you. Almost. My ICE VXX took a dump. Tell me if you see it.

Yes, the one on the right turned green.

And I paid full retail for them. Damnit. I hope these guys are standup. I've never had an issue with their stuff before.

Yes I do see the difference, not as white and not as bright. Damn, I hope it's not a design problem. They changed mine without problem, just a delay for shipping.
Hopefully the new ones they send are upgraded design.

When mine burned, it shorted itself and blew a fuse. My AE are connected on a separate circuit (for DRL) with a dedicated fuse, so all the rest was still working fine. Carry extra fuses for the circuit they are connected to, just in case you find yourself with no light in the middle of nowhere.

I am pretty sure this must be a cold monitoring problem. I have since disabled cold monitoring for all my lights, but this still happened. I guess the cold monitoring abused the crap out of that side. Dunno.

Not only is it not as bright, it turned green.

not to hijack, but is it normal for the LED bulbs to flicker on start up even with Cold Monitoring turned off? Its like the old schoool flouresent bulbs. I turn on the lights about 10 seconds later the angel eyes flicker about 5 times then come on strong. Any thoughts?

I turned off all the cold monitoring and the CC lines for SL_LV/RV I could find

No, those are the LEDs without the resistor packs. The ICE VXX turn on full blast right away without flickering. They used to flicker while off, with cold monitoring.

Wow Umnitza guys are great. Been trying to reach them for 3 days, left message, nothing. Do these guys still exist? Called sales, got them right away. Strange, maybe they are off. Off go my bulbs.

that is horrible.

I installed mine a few weeks ago and they are working perfect, no flickering.

I have not had a chance to code them not to cold monitor yet. Should I be worried? Disconnect them until i do??

Let me know, thanks.

Adam

Yes you should. I am quite positive that is what kills our bulbs. You won't notice them flicker in the daylight. Very low voltage. Then you might not notice at night, as you are sitting inside the car to start the car. They don't flicker when you turn them on, they just turn on.

The only way I was able to see them, is I was coding my car, and put the key to pos2, all of a sudden I see the driver side AE blink, reflecting off my garage door. Only driver side, because the cold monitoring is turned on just on that side.

I told the guys at Umnitza to maybe put that on their installation instructions. They don't think it is the problem, but I know of a few people that have confirmed this.

I fully understand the issue, those 10 super quick flickers put unnecessary ON/OFF wear and tear on the electronics and the bulb. To test, I put the bulb in the other side, and it is still green.

They are off to Umnitza tomorrow, once I get the new bulb, I am pretty sure I won't have this issue ever again, since the cold monitoring is never going back on again.
