I don't know where to start...

I am the proud owner of a 2002 4.4 X5. I love it, but it doesn't love me back. I have searched these threads until I'm cross-eyed. I'm hoping some of you can help me out.

Radio goes on....no sound.
Windshield wiper on right is not working. My husband tightened the screws (all of them). This helped for a while, but now it doesn't.
Drivers side window is not working. Stays up, won't go down. I read about taking the door panel off and checking the clips? Passenger left door won't open and the window won't stay up.
We just put in a new alternator and all new tires. My husband is now unemployed, so taking it in for repairs is out of the question at this time. He's good at fixing things if he has pictures (lol). He fixed the oil separator problem for less than $100.00. I believe he posted how he fixed it and added pictures. Also added his fix for the wipers and pics. ANY help is appreciated. Thanks If you need more detailed info, I'll have him post.

Windshield wiper got stuck on me once also, and i tightened the screws, but I think that if only one side is not working, it's a different problem...
For windows not going down, If it was because of the clips, windows would fall, and would not go up.I would think It's more of mechanism itself.. try to press window up and down and listen if you can hear any sound

The windows good could a window regulator they are a very common failure point on the X5 (as well as most BMWs) HERE is a link to a selection of genuine BMW and aftermarket options.

Go to youtube, type in; removing BMW door panel replacing window regulator. Have your husband watch the one that is 24 minutes long. It shows how to replace the window regulator but when he takes off the panel, he should check the plastic clips that hold the window to the regulator. They will break causing some of the symptoms you have and the clip is only a couple of dollars. I have had to replace 1 regulator but 4 of those clips. Think the dealer wanted bout $326 to fix. Piece of cake. Think the problem with the wiper is the only issue i have not had. Hope it helps.

Check the amplifier, it may have failed (or it could be as simple as a blown fuse). HERE is a great thread on the factory audio system in your X5.

Check fuses #72 & #75 in the cargo compartment panel related to sound system. Check fuse #55 & #63 in panel under glove compartment related to DSC (if you have?).

This just happened to me. 2002, 3.0. That was the beginning of the end.

Mine would go out for a few trips then work for 4 or 5 trips etc. eventually it just died. $1100 installed at the dealer
