I only had my X5 for about a month, but I can deff say the stuff that I need to fix, replace is insane in comparison to every used Lexus I have purchased.

Seriously, I have not had a Lexus with a broken CV boot, dead pixels, failed cooling components, broken window regulators, failed trans, failed TC, or any other leaks. I have had door lock actuators fail, but the fix is literally $1 dollar if you are DIY and can swap out the little motor.

The X5 is lucky I like it a lot, don't mind wrenching, and have a garage. If I did not have a garage, i'd have a Lexus. No way am I wrenching something outside in the cold. Been there, done that.

Where do you get the actuator motors?

Ebay. Go to clublexus and there there is a sticky DIY. Very thorough, about a million pages as everyone replies. Links to the motors are there as well. At one point I bought 10 for $10. I heard they became hot after that, so they cost like $2 per now or something.

I just spent $200 for a locksmith to come and let me in my car, the key cylinder failed and would not unlock the doors!
