Not the speedo. They read high through most, if not all, of the range.
Merry Christmas.

IIRC
All bmw speedo (from that generation at least) are all off by a certain % at a certain mph. While the computer and speed measuring GPS' are correct. One thing that could possilby throw off speed measurement is the wheel/tire size, just slightly. (I'm not too sure though) Main point: Nothing is wrong

Design accuracy is for +2.4 mph + 5%. Maximum permitted error is +2.4% + 10%, or - 0% (no under-reading permitted).
See this post for a link to the TSB. http://www.xoutpost.com/810962-post5.html So, at 110 km/hr actual, it should read around 110 + 4 km/hr + 5.5 km/hr = 119.5 km/hr. Seems pretty close, around 117 km/hr in the photo.

You could unlock the OBC functions and go test 8 from memory, to see the actual speed. How accurate the OBC is to the real speed, not sure?

Thanks I know that in previous vehicles it's always over read by a few km/h but never that much. Have to drive 1000km in a day 4 times in the next couple of months so I want to go as fast as possible without getting a fine in the mail.
Guess I'll be setting the cruise to 10km more than the limit. Should knock the travel time down by an hour |
