Dice DUO Junk or Not?

After months of troubleshooting, scratching my head, and praying I am almost convinced that the Dice DUO option is a piece of junk! It’s a real shame because when it works I love it! Has anyone else experienced the following and if so was there a smoking gun you found to fix it?

1) I have a 2003 X5 3.0
2) I have an IPOD Classic and a Sirius Tuner plugged in to the DUO unit
3) After months of perfect operation it started to “Rest Itself” back to out of box default settings on a daily or multi-day basis
4) I have replaced the DICE DUO, Dice was very helpful here, but after a few days of perfect operation the same problems began again.
5) I have ensured connections are tight etc.
6) I have operated with IPOD connected and not connected still the same

I am really frustrated with this and just don’t know what to do next.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Merry Christmas to all my X5 Family!

Gregg

I vote junk.
My 4.6 has dsp, i installed the adapter and it never had sound, talked with them 10+ times, replaced the dsp, replaced the duo. still didn't work.
Tried about 20 other things they suggested...nothing.
On a lark i plugged it in without the dsp...wha-la! sound.
I then proceeded to have the factory reset anytime the unit sat overnight.
They then tried several hex files, none worked.
Sent the duo back again, they then took 2+ weeks to return another one.
I have driven the truck 3 times and it has locked up 3 times.
Next week i will ask for my money back for the duo and the sirius unit.
I left out that i also swapped cables one time.
Not looking forward to taking my car apart to remove all the pieces again.
Besides that, what shows on the nav screen is crummy.
Where it should say "sirius" on the screen is cut off an only show siriu.
The channels/songs/ are mostly incomplete.
The "clicking" sound when you change channels or it is scrolling is highly irritating.
They should design the "box" to be left in the rear compartment so you can access it easier, since you need to quite often.
Putting it under the front seat is a tight fit when you also have the sirius unit you have to keep next to it since the cable they provide is too short.
