Bulb Upgradingness questions

When i turn my truck on, i have those yellow running day lights. i want them to be white or blue, like an HID. Those running daylights are also the high beams correct? I'm wondering if i get an HID kit for bi-xenon (hi/low) one bulb, if i can get HID running day lights? Also i want brighter fog lights. what is the K on the OEM xenon bulbs. What i bascially want is all the lights to be white or blue not the ugly yellow. Would it be possible to just switch the bulb from a yellow to white without having to do ballasts etc. Let me know if you need anything cleared up.

THANKS GUYS

You'll have to learn to live with the DRL's the way they are. The LKM supplies a lower voltage to power the high beam bulbs to give the DRL function. In the US this feature is optional but I believe those north of the border have no option. (Could be wrong.)
Some have installed HID fogs and then some of those have had problems and had to remove them.

Yep. We here in canada have to have running daylights. If i went with a 55w ballast, would it be able to work for the HID daylgihts/highbeam? I think for the HID foglights if i went with an antiflicker peice, it plugs in between the new and old plug, i shouldn't have problems with computer.

The high beam/DRL will have to remain as halogen or you'll have to fit an additional set of DRL's to keep within the law if you upgrade the high beam to xenon.
It all sound like a wiring monster to me but it is your vehicle and your choice.

Almost in the same position as you -- not liking the yellowised Canadian DRLs on my 03.

What you might be able to do is put in high k high beams for the DRLs (say 8000k bulbs) so that they burn (close to) white at low volts. I never found a post on google with anyone that did that for a report on the results. Naturally, you'd sacrifice actual high beam performance.

There are several posts here about USA/EU folks turning off/relocating the DRL function. One avenue I'm looking at is making the corner markers in to DRLs. I have no idea if its possible/feasible but reprogramming with a GT1 (or similar) has been highlighted in several threads here. Depending on how you wanted it, it could turn in to a wiring monster, as Zulu said.

Half tempted to mask over the darkness sensor so the autolights come on all the time.
