CAn someone with a non-nav, with CD changer E53 check something easy for me?

Need to know how many wires are in the 6-pin connector coming out of your CD changer and going up to your dash. I assume anyone with a non-nav CD changer has the Professional single disc player in your dash mounted above your MID/radio....

I've got a DICE Mediabridge unit that I CANNOT get to work with my setup, and I can't figure out why. I've got signal at the end of the DICE-supplied wiring harness that plugs into the factory harness back where the CD changer should be, but I'm not getting any audio from the iPod or from my BT-linked phone.

My harness from the 6-pin connector that goes into the CD changer (if it were there) and goes up to the dash only has 3 wires in it....the DICE harness coming from the Mediabridge unit has 4 wires. I've got both channels of signal at the end of the DICE harness, but only one channel of signal back at the dash after plugging into the BMW harness.

Also, does anyone know what makes the system switch over to the signal from the CD changer? When I toggle modes with the Mediabridge attached, the system recognizes that there's something hooked up to the CD changer circuit (with the Mediabridge disconnected, I can only toggle between the radio and the in-dash CD player when I hit the mode button...when it's connected, it shows me the CD changer display, and also shows the music titles and switches between tracks on the iPod or phone, so it's opening up that circuit...it's just not finding the audio....)

I have the dsp system with no changer installed. Looks like mine has a 3 pin connector available in the trunk. I assume that is like a headphone jack with a positive signal for each channel and a shared ground. Also I added the aux input cable at the back of the head unit and that is also a 3 pin input. That cable has some type of resistor inline that lets the head unit know its there. I can select the aux input even if there isn't a source running. Good luck!

I have a non-nav and used to have a 6-cd changer in the trunk, it is now instead an ipod/auxiliary input module. Does that help? I have never gotten behind the dashboard, but if you want me to tell you what;s at the trunk compartment I'd be glad to...
