Just changed the window regulator window goes up slow now?

I just changed the 3rd window regulator. It's the front driver's side. Everything seems to be ok buy the window goes up and down a little slowly and the automatic up and down doesn't work. Did anyone else have this problem? What's the fix?

Are you sure you had a bad regulator?? What were the original symptons?? I thought I had a bad regulator and it ended up being a window motor.

I think the motor is fine. The window fell at an angle then down into the door. I found a few broken plastic pieces of the regulator in the inside of the door. After installing the new regulator the window goes up and down but it seems to have some extra friction some where or an alignment issue slowing it down and cancelling the express down switch.

I've replace 5 regulators on my 323 wagon (one 2x) and the right rear on my X5. No problems w/installation and function until now.

My X5's right front window went down and didn't come up. it was working at normal speed before. The plastic tabs on the rear regulator holding the cable were broken and I replaced the regulator and both window clips.

Now the window varies between slow then regular speed then slow. in the last two inches of travel on the way down it makes a ticking sound.

What's going on?

I've confirmed that the window is in the front and rear tracks and have lubricated them.

Fixed it!!!

In case anyone runs into this problem this is what I did.

I removed the bolts on the right side regulator and right side window clip bolt (closer to the rear of the car) and wedged it out of the door. Then I rotated it 180 degrees top towards me. This caused the cables to switch positions. Now the cable going from the motor to the top right guide is closer to the door panel and the cable going from the top left guide to the bottom right guide is closer to the door skin (outside of the car) where they overlap. I also put a loose zip tie on them like the OEM regulator so it wouldn't make a noise bouncing around when the door is closed. After this is started working at regular speed!!!

But it was still making a creaking noise just before fully closing and opening. Turns out it was the plastic guides on the big cable springs by the motor. Tried silicone and lots of other lubes but it still made noise. Put a gob of white lithium grease on it and it stopped making the creaking noise.

Time to put the panel back on.

This regulator had obviously been replaced before since some of the door panel clips were missing.
