Locking the OBDII port
Like insert a fake connetor and attached a lock of some sort. I'm just thinking with all the and old scanners out there. Its like a security flaw. Anyway can just plug in with a laptop and do whatever? any engineers here or brainstormers.

Umm, I just lock the door. That protects more that just the obd port.
What do you think is going to happen? Someone is going to clear the trouble codes? Reset the adaptations? Somehow go to all the trouble to set you back to an old program? I mean you have to allow people to access the car either to drive it or work on it, if you can't trust them... Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express |

Well if someone were to break into the car, the 15 minutes it would take to mess with the dme and security system isn't something a thief has. They want in quick and out, or to drive off.
And if they have access to the odb port then they are in the car already. Seems a little useless at that point. Im just saying they already broke in, they are more likely to steel the radio and all your cd's than hang out and hack into your car to try and steel it. Sent from my SGH-i917 using Board Express |
