Window rattles inside door if it is down when I close the door

When I close the driver door with the window down the window rattles inside the door. Is this normal or do I need to open it up and tighten something?

I have the exact same problem. Door only rattles when the window is down. I took the door apart expecting to find a loose bolt but everything was tight. Two of the four prongs on the window regulator clip(#51338254781) were broken though, I have the part just need to replace it and see if it fixes it. Good luck.

Could you give us an update when you replace them whether it continues to rattle?

Both my BMWs have done this, although I've never tried to find the source of the rattle. Looking forward to seeing what you find!

mine does this as well, when i recently replaced my door handle mechanism bc my outdoor handle stopped working, i looking into what was making the noise. the noise comes from the metal slider which goes up and down the window regulator track. its as if the track was too small for the slider and it would jump around when giggled. it giggles and makes more noise when the top of the window isnt fully up and secured. i figure i will just replace the regulator when it eventually goes. its easier to replace than the rear regulators so i'm not too worried about it, and they are fairly inexpensive ~$75 if u search around on the internet. if theres a way to replace that slider please let me know.

Success! I just replaced that plastic clip and the door no longer rattles when the window is down. FYI there are two clips on the front door, only one of mine was broken, but check both.
