Pairing Bluetooth with iPhone 4S????

Hey i just got a 2005 X5 4.4i and i cant seem to get the system to pair up with my iPhone 4S. I've looked on the "how to's" but none of the pages will open up. My phone finds the BMW but it says "Please Wait" on the sterio for ever and wont go to bluetooth pairing. Am i doing something wrong? Is there a step that im missing?

Thanks in advance.

iPhone 4S works with no issues on 2005 X5. Are you following instructions on this link http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...tooth-ulf.html

Do you have the bluetooth pairing code?

Yup I followed thoes instructions. I entered the pairing code on my phone, but the radio display just sits there with a "Please Wait" display. I press the R/T button and it says "Activate Phone" but no Bluetooth Pairing comes up, no matter if i hold the button down or just press and release it.

It has to have the voice recognition because when i hold the button with the "face" on the steering wheel, you can hear the previous owners voice.

I have the same issue with my HTC Evo 3D. I believe it has something to do with the 3.0 Bluetooth stack that these phones are using which is not compatible with our cars. Your phone is actually paired. If you dial a number or receive a phone call it will go through your car Bluetooth. It only has trouble downloading your phone directory.

Yes it is probably paired. It just can't link the phone book for some reason. Found this weird as well.

Interesting!!! I unpaired and paired few times in hope of fixing the problem. It never worked.

I’ll try it again tonight.

I had to unpair from X5 side; unpairing from phone side did not help. And to unpair from X5 I had to pair 4 other phones as the E53 X5 can pair up to 4 phones and they stay in memory till the next phone is paired...First-in-first-out(FIFO).

My thread with this issue.
