Not happy with MAGNAFLOW X-pipe anymore want louder

So last year I replaced the resinator with straight pipe and HATED it! it was wayy too raspy. So I put the X-pipe, I loved it no raspy but you could hear the v8 rumble a little bit but not much.

So after almost a year I'm ready to go loud, I dont want raspy at all but i want to deep loud v8 sound. Can anyone give me any ideas?

My tech told me to keep the x-pipe and replace the stock mufflers with magnaflow with stock 4.6is tips........

Magnaflow BMW X5 4.4i exhaust system - YouTube

something like this? It reminds me of my vette without the cam lope.

I would love to do something like this but with a baby seat in the back I don't know if it will be to loud. Hows the x pipe with stock mufflers? louder than stock? any performance loss or gain?

Isambard is an unknown quantity at this point
That almost sounds raspy too. Like a 'blat'. I just have Eisenmann Race rear boxes on mine and is very much like how this v8 should sound.

I bought mine on the strength of the above vid a couple of years back. They actually sound more meatier in real life, particularly at higher revs. I also love the sound at start up, they ALMOST sound like my old e39 m5 on start up. I had custom 'Haywood and Scott' rear boxes fitted to that beast. Sounded like a nascar! Ah, memories..

sounds pretty good. it's hard to get the real sound over my laptop. Not to hijack the thread but what size mufflers / xpipe would be needed for these x5's. Also, what is the better combo's? I.E. xpipe & stock mufflers or just replace the mufflers? I don't want to throw codes or lose and power. Not really looking to gain power just a nice sound without drone.

Magnaflow mufflers will sound like an American muscle car, not a German ultimate driving machine. Trust me, I have heard them.

Well a lot of members no what it is but I forgot... I have the 4.6is which has some part the 4.4 and 4.8 does not have. My x pipe with stock mufflers is just a notch up from stock. Just when you start the car cold and when you gas it you can tell FROM THE OUTSIDE not from driver seat. Where I have heard 4.8 with just a magnaflow muffler and it sounds amazing!!!

If i wanted to spend $1500 I would probably put b&b triflows or consider supersprint

I replaced the resonator with straight pipe and lot torque and it popped a lot, would not go that route

I have stock mufflers, and replaced the res with stright pipes. I love it. Little raspy in the morning, so I am very light on the throttle which is fine anyway because the engine is warming up, but as soon as it warms up I think it sounds great.
