Nice. The only way I would replace an OEM battery with an OEM battery is if it's under warranty. Otherwise, it's just dumb when you can find non-BMW branded equivalent batteries for a fraction of the cost.

I've been looking into batteries lately too and what I'm about to do is replace my battery with a monster, take that battery compartment right out all together and secure the new battery where my jack is/was. I can't get over how much power this vehicle consumes. I've gotta plug it in and charge it once every couple weeks since I don't drive far enough to the office everyday to keep it charged up. BMW's official solution for me was to buy a trickle charger. Does this sound normal??
I had three heated seats on at once with the heater going and the computer kicked the vehicle into safe/limp mode because I stepped on the gas to pass someone on the highway. My battery light keeps coming on also. What's up with this?

Yeah, I put in a $90 bat from the 'zone a coupla years ago. I clipped a motorcycle battery to the car during the change-over to keep any settings that might become lost. (radio, equalizer, etc.)
My challenge is a 2 minute daily commute which means I gotta find the time to go further or sometimes I'll put a charger on during the weekend if I'm too busy to go anywhere just to drive. |
