:xoutpost: Michelle. You certainly "stumbled" in to the right place for all that is X. Remember, there are no dumb questions. Chances are that the group here knows much more about Danica than your dealer will .

OHHHH YEAH.... the GCs are well known for that Things got so bad that Chrysler redesigned the caliper in an effort to try and stop the problem. Amazing that a 40k car had such poor brakes, eh?

The other big thing with those is that the climate control stops working after awhile...you might want heat but you'll get A/C

Welcome aboard!

Hey M.

I like the comment you made , "I will never own another American car!!!" Interesting, I said the same thing at least 13 years ago. And haven't looked back since then. Had a 1989 Ford Tempo. After a couple years of driving the doors panels started comming loose, engine problems etc.

Since then, I'v owned Honda Accord and Passport , and guess what no problems with the door panels or engine and, I have not paid for any major repairs to both vehicles.

Now I have a 2004 X5 and I feel like, (screaming) "I'm on top of the world!!!!!" (A scene from Titanic)

I'm so happy to have found this site and to know that I'm not alone in my obsession with the X5. Around where I live, there are tons of X5's (along with Cayennes, Range Rovers, etc), but most of them have carseats in the back with Mommy's behind the wheel that couldn't tell the difference between a 3.0 and a 4.8.

As soon as I get mine all cleaned up, I'll take some photos and get them posted!

Merry Christmas (or whatever your flavor may be)!

P.S.--Where do I get a set of angel eyes?? (You guys are rubbing off on me already!)

Check this post. The angel eyes in my signature are OEM and are in 2004+ X5s. I saw a young girl driving a black 4.8 in White plains area the other day, a first for me.
