Rubber Floor Mat Anchors

When I bought my X I did not have the proper anchors for my rubber mats. I had the velcro type anchors under the rubber mats which did not do much for holding my mats.

I searched to see if I could find the proper anchors online but no luck.

I finally found E46 anchors advertised on ebay (from Turkey no less!) and ordered a package of 10 of them. I do not know if they are the same or similar to the proper anchors, but they worked fine. Waiting to see if they will really hold the mats now!

Pics attached.

The floor mats come with anchors when bought new. Good you have the twist lock type. My X has the screw on type so it doesnt hold right

When I got my mats, they came with OE hooks that you switch from the velcro ones. The fronts are same, twist lock type, the rears are screw type.

Which ones are you talking about here? Front or rear mats.

When I got my truck, I had the front velcro anchors, the lock type. The rear had no mats or holes. Well all my mats were missing somewhere between Florida pickup, and drop off by me.

Regardless, I ordered the mats, and the rear ones require you to make the holes for the screw type by yourself. I got the OE mats, and the instructions that came with it showed exactly how to install. I'll check if I kept the instructions. Maybe there are front new install instructions as well.

I had ordered weather tech floor liners for my x5 they came with holes in the front and all I had was Velcro. I looked all over the net for the hold downs and in the end decide not to fight it. I went to home depot and got some stick on Velcro applied it to the underside of the mats and now they stay put. When getting the stick on Velcro be sure to get the kind specified for rubber and "dashboard" use. Other varieties may not hold up to extreme temperature fluctuations.

The photo you posted uses hold downs like the ones found HERE.
