What else should I replace since I'm in there?
I have to replace the valve cover gasket due to minor leakage and thought I would ask what else I should order parts for & tackle while I'm doin the VCG? I have 112,000 miles on an '04 3.0. I'm gonna do the Tranny as well too. Was told by dealer parts dude to use any Dex/Merc-VI. Oxy sensors need replacement?(they still work) Steve |

Well if you're doing the VCG, make sure to get the VCG grommets as well. There should be 15. As for the tranny, get the filter kit that includes the filter, gasket and new bolts. As for O2 sensors, save your money until they actually break.
![]() If you haven't replaced the spark plugs, now is a good time as they're typically rated for 100K and while you don't really have to touch them, you will be working around them. Take some pics of your valvetrain when you do the VCG too.
