New member but have been lurking a long time. First of all thanks to everyone for all the great information. I would like to especially thank the pros who post on this site.
Up to now I have been able to find answers to all of my questions using the search function but here is an issue I need help with. My expansion tank cracked so heeding this warning tackled the cooling system this weekend. I had been putting it off. Replaced tank, hoses, pump, thermostat, fan clutch, belts and tension pulley. I ordered the two water pipes figuring that being plastic they are at risk for failure. The truck is a 3.0. However it looks to me that it would take removing the intake manifold to replace the pipes. Is that correct? If so does anyone ever replace the water pipes as preventive maintenance?
Also punted on replacing the engine inlet to water valve hose, part 64218383536 or hose 5 on

I had the microfilter housing out to replace the heater hoses to the water valve and expansion tank but couldn't reach where this inlet hose attaches. Would removing the plastic cover over the valve cover help? Thanks in advance
