My suspension was low this evening.

Went out to the X and noticed the rear was pretty low. I turned it on and it came right up to level. I've never noticed it doing that before.

Is this a sign of bad things to come?

Only if it becomes a daily routine. That system has a bunch of weird wake up and check routines, and if it compensates for something during it's 6 hour interval watchdog routine, it will only lower (doesn't run compressor) until engine started. There are limits to how far it'll lower on a wakeup routine, bu if you left it in access position, it can be allowed to vent itself down pretty far.

I thought the same thing with mine; every or every other morning it would be squatting in the garage - ended up replacing the front left shock the first time, rear right baloon the second

Yeah.

Pepe88, if you gotta know for peace of mind, (i assumed you have 4 wheel leveling), then put it in raised position where none of the wheels are curbed or otherwise out of whack compared to the others. A noticeable drop overnight would normally not occur.

Get a set of Arnott air springs prepared just in case and when it gets really bad, swap the new ones in.
That's what I've done.
When I noticed the X sagging overnight,I did some research here and got quotes for the labor and parts .Since my local shop offered air springs for $300 + tax a piece without labor,I went and got some Arnott springs for $200 a pair off eBay(either eBay or their website is the same).
So I saw the problem getting worse, but couldn't stop my X even for a day until compressor started to make more noise and it was taking 2 times to get the air system brought to the operating pressure. As soon as you open any of the doors, compressor would start, but, there's a predetermined time it runs and then shuts off and if the pressure is low yet,it triggers the Selflevel susp inactive warning. It's when I had to turn the key to 0 and back to 2 in order to force it to work longer.
Anyway.Get ready,as savvy guys from here say that 18 out of 20 cases this is caused by the leaking air spring.Just don't wait for the compressor to fail due to the repetitive continuous running, because it's not designed for such a performance.
BTW Arnott gives life time warranty on their springs.

Great advice, honestly just leak test the system like I did, got my front struts replaced from Arnott and they are great!

I think I am due for a compressor though, because I still have a fault but my car stays at perfect height! Only my ride heigh control doesn't work, scanned it with GT1 and it said my air supply needs replacing (tested through the program and it must be out of spec, probably because I had leaking front struts for quite some time)

I may go with a new compressor and a set of rear springs just for peace of mind knowing the components are newer all around (module was replaced by previous owner)

I suggest you spray the rear air bag with some soapy water or glass cleaner. if there is a leak you will see bubbles and that is a sure sign your air bag is developing a leak. If so, then as others have advised, go the Arnott route and you will be happy.
