123460th mile dead (4-way flasher HID-fogs issue)

Got him on the charger now, please feel free to laugh about trouble finding the positive post - it is the last place I would look and no, I didn't rtfm until I -HAD- given up.

So, completely dead, cannot set 4-way flashers, no tailgate.
Last night, after the joy-ride, I proceeded through the return trip and parkway to pick up my son, so nice low-rev follow.
While waiting for my son, I pressed the fog-lights (HID) to make us glow better and light the stairs, but ended up double-hitting the switch, on-then-off within a second.

Instantly the interior lights came on and the four-ways started flashing. I pressed the four-way switch off at console, then open & close door to shut off int lights. Pressed foglight switch on again and confirm op on dash, all seems well, laugh about what-the-hell-self-test did I set off, drove home, turn off X, go inside.

Today, dead-dead-dead, presently charging at 2 amps, tailgate already works.

Should I -Be Afraid-? FSR go Boom?

Dunno about all the processes you did, but it may just be a run down/discharged batt, or an older batt that coincidentally went toes up.

No electric maven here, but if that batt is old(ish), a new one may cure your ills.
And, if you do get a new one, put it on a low amp 'battery tender' type charger for a day or so, before installation, to get the new one up to full tilt boogie.

prolly wil, as stealer service has the 'big winter sale' going on now and battery is one of the deals..
still, seller said it was newish Optoma, and never needs but two turns to start even at 12 DEGREES F.. then come up parasitic-no-tailgate dead in 12 hours?

is anyone else having trouble posting? I added a smily to this and the post just comes up 'DONE' in the bar, but does not post.
EDIT: FOUND IT, the ASCII degree symbol is making the board puke, I guess..

i believe you were a victim of the aforementioned my friend and that is the culprit that drained your battery. I just wanted to share this in case anyone else experiences the same issue.

If you unlock and relock the doors again with the remote with the car off, all troubles will be cleared until the next time it happens.
MUCH thanx, we were definitely confused - guessing I wasted the money on the battery, as it -was- perfect until the weirdness. That said, I tend to hurry-up replace any battery that has been drained to dead-dead.
