Very strange day for my new 4.8
Also, my seatbelt light and chime started dinging while driving. Nothing I could do would make it stop. Then magically, it just stopped by itself. What gives? Thanks for the ideas, Scott

Sometimes if you drive at excess speeds and your vents are shut. the air has no where to go so makes that sound.
Usually opening a vent or 2 will help i have found. Hopefully thats what you were refering to?? Let me know if that works.

Next time try running a pass of the windshield wipers. At certain positions at certain speeds they can cause a noise, and cycling them changes the position just enough to eliminate it.

Seat belt chime
Did you have your brief case or other heavy item on the passenger seat? If so, that's what the problem was. Just buckle the belt across the empty seat and you'll be good to go. The dealer says that some seats are more sensitive to others on weight. I had the same problem, thought it out and came up with the solution. The other possibility, if you don't like having a belt across the empty seat, is to get a buckle insert from a wrecked car, and just slip it into the buckle receiver.
Mine seems to have gotten a bit better, now after a year, but still a bit touchy. The buckled belt on the empty seat doesn't bother me. Good luck.

Place some pressure on the inside of the uppermost part of the windscreen with your one hand whilst driving > 75 MPH. If this does decrese noise, your windscreen is loosening and needs to be refitted and resealed. Mine came loose, and the noise tended to increase incrementally from 70 MPH and up, so it was refitted and siliconed tight again.
Mabye this helps Scott? Cheers,

Scott,
Peridically I get that "houling" noise at speeds above 70mph. As said by another member in this thread, it seems to be related to the air ducts. In my situation it happens when my ducts are fully open in the cold (3 blue dots on vents) position. |

Yeah My window had to be redone as well it made a horrible howling sound on the freeway, its a well documented problem, unfortunatly its a bitch to get diagnosed by your dealer, took me almost 2 months!!!!!!!
