EGS firmware questions

My indy recently left BMW and is a master tech. He is still plugged into their system and receives all new info.
The last time my X was at his place he showed no updates for my tranny.
Is this because it was already done or is something being missed.
Where can i point him to find this update.
My X has recently been a victim of the hard 2-1 downshift. We are going to dump the fluid and filter, i would like to make sure the update is in place or done at the same time so i can get a baseline on any issues that may or may not remain.
