Major Maintence
So to rant or rather reassure myself... here it goes...
So after picking up a 2004 4.4 in December, car was great and in fact best car I have owned. So after about a month of driving low oil level warning flashes as i exit the car one day. I figure what the heck ill throw in a quart and I should be good to go, probably just faulty. So forward 2-3 weeks i get the warning again so i start to question it. So after burning up that quart i decide time to take it in. Luckily i picked up a warranty when i bought the car. This turned out to save me....
So after what I thought might be a quick fix my car has been in the shop for 3+ weeks. Needed new valve seals and valve guides. Also they suggested since they would be in there that i replace several other parts, spark plugs, valley pan? etc. What other parts would you think they would be replacing?
So if anyone could clarify if this is normal around 74K miles or i my car prone for more issues after this major maintenance? Hoping to get the car back this week.
From what I hear after nearly 4K in work the car should run what some friends tell me "better than ever before" and "like brand new"
Thoughts? Sorry for the rant just wanted to get some more info from all of you experienced X5 owners. Love the forum thus far!
