this might sound strange, but have you checked your fuses in the glove compartment? The front doors, have their own fuses, per door. One door can loose all/some power functions, just because of the fuse. Don't ask how I got to find this out.

Didn't have a chance to check all the fuses... On top of my to to list.
However, I found out, every time I see my folding mirror has been folded no reason. I will keep you posted.

i had this problem with the driver’s door and i had the problem of the mirrors not working and the windows not working off the switch in the driver’s door, the memory seats would move mirrors to memory position and the window’s would work off the key and the other switches, this was after replacing my mirrors with new ones form stealers £1800, so i fiddle and pushed and pulled and twisted then read the forum and tried the battery thing, then the driver’s window would work off the driver’s door switch, so after reading forum i thought it either had to be the switch or the connection in the door jam. i went to my mate who reset ecu and cleared all faults, still didn’t work, he said there was no connection in the switch when he tries using the computer to control them, he said it must be the switch cause it’s not responding, so i rang my mate so i could go round and fit my new interior and while i was sitting in the car with it running i plug the driver’s door switch back in and thought let me see if the mirrors would fold, guess what they folded and all the windows would work off the switch and even my passenger door lock indicator wouldn’t go up and down for the last year started to work.

i come to the conclusion that the switch must be like plug and play and the ignition needs to be on for the switch to be recognised, similar to when you plug a device into you home pc and it recognises it and loads drivers..
Hope this helps, it sorted all my lock window and mirror problems at once.
Maybe a lot of parts need to recognised by the car with the ignition on

I have a problem that is just as messed up. My rear hatch top, won't open or do the soft close thing. I have ordered a new lock, and switch, went to test them out, and same shit, still nothing works. My electrician friend is coming by today to try and diagnose this, because as of now, I am $500 into this, and still can't open my trunk from the outside. The electrical problems in these cars are insane.

At least your works. Even with new DLA mine won't work.
It is embarrasing to have to open and lock the driver's side with a key, very circa 1980's.

Obviously BMW electronics has mind of its own.
I am getting tired of throwing parts at them without positive outcome and with negative cash flow.

Guys find the relays, and start checking them. My electrician just fixed my rear soft close issue. First thing he said is the relays in our cars are bullshit, and should be replaced with either seimans or hella brand. My issue was sticking relay. Once replaced everything started working right away. As soon as he saw them, he knew the problem. He said they fail all the time, and it is an issue with American built BMW, as the german ones have the Seimans.

Hi, has anyone found out what the problem is? Today I installed the BSW stage one, and after I was done my drivers side lock doesn't work unless manually closing it. Any suggestions?

Tried twice and didn't work though.

Now Auto folding mirrors fold themselves whenever I come back to my car.
Also I am not sure if it is related or not sometimes driver's side windows switches doesn't work at all, I had to replug the cables.

FYI I have replaced switches, cables, an actuator for the driver's side.
