LED Tails/Capacitor Question for 2004+ E53
Many mention needing a capacitor set to prevent the 'flickering' that results from the Adaptive Braking in the 2004+ models. The vendor "Light Werkz" is also mentioned as a good source. The only thing I can find on their web site regarding capacitors of any kind is the following. It does not mention tail lights nor BMW nor the E53. Does anyone know if this is the right thing? Other recommendations? Would hate to get all this stuff and not be able to use it. HID Projector Headlight Retrofit for Subaru, Honda, BMW, Scion and More | LightWerkz.net Any info appreciated! TIA! Just Email Cesar @ Lightwerkz using the contact form on their website I believe.
He is quick to get back to you and quick to ship, and will send you a paypal invoice for 25 bucks for the capacitors, plug them in and you're good! -J |

The Lightwerkz fix is the right thing. Ten minutes or less of your non-techy time and headache goes away. I did this just recently on my '03. If you can operate a pair of pliers and know the difference between green and black, you're good to go.
Thumbs up on service, communication and quality.

I'm interested in doing this to my 2004 x5 freaking tired of the "check rear light" message. Where can I get a set of these smoked tails that would give me no errors? Thanks in advance. I met Caesar as well. Very nice guy

The "flickers" people are talking here is really the LCM sending pulses to check for burn out bulb, but aftermarket LED will flick while regular incadescent won;t that's where capacitor will smooth out the pules/flickers. |

Built in Capacitiors?
The seller sent me this -- so I didn't buy anything extra. Hope he is correct!
-- SNIP Dear , there tail lights should have built-in resistors that should not cause the lights to flicker Best Regards, Brian Hua :::a0KA0000004yLAbMAM::: - x3racing |
