Advice needed on headlights please

I recently changed the bulbs in my headlights to try and improve them but they still seem pretty poor.

Ideally I would love to retrofit Xenons but they cost £1300 from my dealer.

Does anyone have any suggestions on an alternative that might be cheaper but will improve my headlights?

All help greatly appreciated.

P.S. Would also like to know more about Angel Eyes and are they available in UK.

Hey Andy,

I picked my Le Mans Blue Special Ed up 3 weeks ago and it came with Xenons ! I thought that all the Le Mans Special Eds did !?!?

Did you have the reversing Cam fitted as an extra ?

Cheers

What bulbs did you use? Silvania and PIAA make great bulbs for the X5.

I run PIAA hi beams and driving lights on my X5 and I love them.

Hi pj,

We didn't spec our car. It was already in the showroom when fell in love with it. Our dealer specced it and didn't put xenon's in it. Who speccs a £45,000 ($76,000) car and doesn't put xenon's in it???

We are actually just back from our dealer. We went in to complain bitterly about the throw distance on dipped headlamps. They took it to an MOT testing station and it appears they were not set right. The lamps have been adjusted and should now have a much further throw. Time will tell.

Our dealer fitted the reversing camera just before we picked the car up. It is really handy but it gets dirty quickly and is a bit more prominent at the back of the car than we would like.

pj, how do you like your X5?

Thanks to everyone for their feedback.

AndyP

I KNOW!!!!!! I just wish I'd thought of that sooner. Thank you for that Fiona. I hope it has worked, I really do, 'cos it was so bad before, it was almost undriveable at night.

Thanks again.

Now you're following me.

Which PIAA is it I should go for? The Platinum White don't look much different to the Osram's we just bought. And the Plasma Spark Blue's are not road legal.
