What happened to this X5 ?

I have just bought a second hand 2003 X5 mileage is 98K 4.4i.

I am just looking at it's service history which is complete , however there is one big job on there that had the following replaced in one go around 10k miles ago.

Power Steering Pump.
Alternator
Water Pump
Water Hose
Fan Belt & Belt tensioner

Any idea what would have caused all these things to have to be replaced at once ?

Also any pointers on stuff I should get done now to stop problems later.

I am close to a gearbox specialist , should I have the fluid changed or just leave it ?

One thing I have noticed is a shuddering under braking from the front, it has already had offside CV join and control arm done around 15K miles ago, I am guessing nearside will need doing now.

Other thing I have noticed is a bang from the back when picking up power from slowing down under moderate acceleration, nothing major but can definitely feel it , would this be a suspension component that needs replacing.

Thanks

Mark
