Need some help from an AC guru please!!!

Hey guys,

So our 2005 X5 4.8is has been having some AC woes, first getting heat from the central vent when on full AC, and second there seems to be a leak from the compressor. I told our specialist to replace pretty much everything, inc water valve and new compressor, but the compressor part was quite expensive in the Middle east, so I ordered it from a friend in the UK and shipped it over.

To cut a long story short, they ripped out the old compressor and are saying the new compressor doesn't fit. I asked my friend to order part number 64526917864 which is what I thought was a compressor for a 4.8is. The compressor is a Denso part, meant to be OEM.

Can anyone help me out here, with what I should have and what I do have? On the denso website it isn't listing any compressors for a 2005 4.8is, and only lists for 2002 4.4/4.6. Do they even make the right compressor for my motor?

Getting the garage to send me pics of my old compressor and the new one.....

Any help appreciated, could someone check the part number for me also? Not sure if I did it right first time....

Thanks guys

Chaps, I have some pics.

First is the old compressor which is leaking, second is the new compressor that I supplied, last is both together.

Can anyone identify the second (new) compressor?

Did you use realoem.com to find the part?

yes, I did. Found the part number and ordered the unit from a friends garage, and the above unit turned up.

I think I've identified it now, the new compressor is for the older X5s, the 4.4 and 4.6is models. will have to get it changed over....
