Yes door handle has a fiber optic type of thing. There is a fuse, but yours might just be burnt. Try the bulb from the other door.

have a look at night at the back door handles with your headlights on , the light there glows a lot brighter
that will give you an idea of where to look on the front door handles, in my car the front lights are a lot less brighter than the back i dont think you will need to drill any holes, i imagine the fitting is already there, either the bulb is blown or has fallen out. |

I know for sure, that the factory lit handles, have a plug in connection on the back of the handle. It plugs into a fiber optic bar of sorts. Here is the part number for the specific handle.
