"Hidden" door light

Hey guys I cannot find a thread that I saw at one point in time about the "extra" light hidden in the door panel. I finally took my door apart to replace the door handle carrier and ran across it. Do I have to order the different interior door handle cup or can I just drill a hole in the exsisting one? Also doesn't seem to light up no matter what I do, is there a connection I need to make? Thanks guys!

Yes door handle has a fiber optic type of thing. There is a fuse, but yours might just be burnt. Try the bulb from the other door.

have a look at night at the back door handles with your headlights on , the light there glows a lot brighter

that will give you an idea of where to look on the front door handles, in my car the front lights are a lot less brighter than the back

i dont think you will need to drill any holes, i imagine the fitting is already there, either the bulb is blown or has fallen out.

I know for sure, that the factory lit handles, have a plug in connection on the back of the handle. It plugs into a fiber optic bar of sorts. Here is the part number for the specific handle.

Home Page > Search > 51417122200 > ES#99614 DOOR HANDLE - 51417122200

Look at that, and you will see what I mean.

Its way more expensive than drilling a hole though.
