Frozen door locks - Common Problem ?

My driver's door handle has been frozen for the past week. In the morning, I have to pull with all my might to get the handle open. Then, once I do, it stays extended open and the door won't latch when I close it. I have to get out of the X, and push and pull on the handle until I hear it catch.

Last night, I had an idea. I decided to park my X facing the opposite direction so that the morning sun would shine on the driver's door. When I headed out to work this morning, I pulled on the door handle and it opened perfectly! No resistance, no clicking, nothing! My idea worked!! Woooooo hoooooo!!!!

UPDATE! I've been parking this way all week and my door has been opening perfectly! Just as it does during the warm months!
