I'm coming out of a 99 Land Rover Discovery 1 and looked for a long time for something I enjoy driving, and stumbled on the X5, and loved it. My wife has a 03 3 series "kombi" (german for station wagon

Got a few total new guy questions, one is for the ipod intergration. If the vehicle has factory navigation. Is there a system that is preferred over others? I did a search and all the answers seemed to relate to non-nav cars.

Also the nav was replaced by BMW in 2008, do I need to do an update and how is that accomplished?

The vehicle has sport package, and what comes with that, aside from the larger wheels?

Lastly, I read the panoramic roof can have issues, what to look for?

The car has been owned by the same person since 2006, and has been dealer serviced, it just had a big service, and some coolant work (expansion tank and thermostat replacement) so I hope it will be good to go for a little while longer.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to posting pics and joining you all here. I think the first thing I'll do is have an x-pipe installed, and maybe some piano black trim to complement the wood.
