My BMW branded battery was made by exide.
But from the sounds if it, that is besides the point. He needs to do some real troubleshooting to figure out the problem. |

I have the same exact problem. I don't have access to an OBD scanner so I purchased one online today so I can pull the codes. It should arrive on the 29 Aug and I'll post the codes then. Hope to get this resolved ASAP. My voltages are the same as yours and I'm not sure how old the battery is since I purchased the X5 in November of last year. More to follow.
P.S. Thanks for all your help SlickGT1!

Hope you can answer my question here, please. http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ttle-body.html Dont have a clue whether the throttle body normally behaves like this. Should the hole be completely sealed at normal position? Cheers!

I'm at work and can't see youtube videos. I'll check it out when I get home. As for the butterfly valve in the throttle body, it should completely shut when the engine is off. When the vehicle is running, the OBC makes the adjustments for a steady idle. I'll get back to you when I'm able to see the video.

That looks fine to me. I think your problem is elsewhere...certainly not the blockage of the butterfly valve. Did you try unplugging the MAF sensor?
