Pick my baby up tomorrow

Hi All,

So I joined up about a year ago when I brought my first X5, which we had to return to the dealer.

It has taken me a while, but I have finally found another one I like and pick it up tomorrow..

I had to compromise a bit, I wanted an '07 but they are still sooo expensive over here, so settled for a black 03 4.4i

We are off to pick it up in the morning...

I want to retro fit the reversing camera and I also want to find out if I can update the TV/GPS system to the newer version. And I'm thinking of some bling bling Rims. does 26" look silly on a X5?? I still want to be able to go off road and down to the snow, so want something that is cute but still practical.

Congratualtions! That is great that you are getting your E53!

As for the cam, it can definatly been done. I think you need the towing harness to wire the cam to the car. The GPS system can be updated with a new disc i beleive. Do a search.

As for the rims, if you put the 26" dubs on your E53, you will be banned from this board.

In all seriousness, I don't think 26" will fit. Do a search and see if other members put WAY oversized rims on their E53.

i believe 22" is the max you can put in e53..although it really depends on the color of you vehicle and color of the wheels you chose.....

Congrats on the new X. Why stop at 26" wheels? Go bigger, but get the whole wheel, not just rim.

hehe should have guessed Rims are a touch subject... kinda like in my bike forums...

we dont discuss, fuel, tyres and breas feeding lol...

Car is black on black... I was thinking of gloss black rims with a little bit of chrome...

Just burning some music before we start the 2 hour run to go get the car...

If you can get 26 inch rims on it then all power to you. Mind you if you didn't want any rubber you could probably fit them just. If you want to put anything larger than 20 inch rims on it, don't. But if you do really want to put 22 inch rims on it then ....... don't :P. Makes a beautiful German vehicle look like cheap crap IMHO

The Nav system can be upgraded, check out this thread for assistance with Australian Nav database
