Hi guys
i was just wondering to see this topic here, because I made same topic in our local Slovakian BMW forum :-), so I mean it doesn´t matter where you are, ideas are very similar:-). I made my wheel black as well and it works well for me so far. But first of all I had to say I was looking for something to maintain rubber parts. I bought one can of Plasti-DIP to maintain all rubber sealing parts in car and spraying of wheels was something additional to me. I think surface is roughly as I want to be and definitely I wanted to change from gloss to dull and this is OK with me also. see my pictures. greetings from Slovakia

I did mine too. I get compliments all the time and it looks pretty aggressive. Also has the added benefit that I don't have to clean the wheels as much.
I've only had to touch them up a couple times for curb rash. (damn my crazy driving) ![]() Sorry, not a great pic but... |

Just my opinion but I think that the combination of 17" size, basic style, and blacked out makes it look like you have steel wheels without hubcaps. As someone else mentioned, the tall tire sidewall relative the matte black wheels looks odd.
Disregard this if you love them and enjoy them. It's your ride but you asked....
