Battery Drain / Stereo Nav / Dynavin
Recently shipped my Black, 2001 4.4 Sport with 56,000 miles from London to Sydney. Unfortantely I shipped the battery drain issue as well.
Battery Drain / Stereo/nav sound Not Working I have traced the source of the battery drain to the Head Unit / CD Changer Fuse # 74 and 72. After locking the car the multimeter reads 300mA, when alseep the car was reading 150mA (it dropped in stages) ..... the reading dives to 50mA (correct level)........ when i pull fuses out 74 and 72. I followed the helpful steps outlined in the E53 Outpost thread "Orange Light on gearshift & battery drain issues" Should call out a common cause of drain is also the FSR. Re the stereo not working The sound for Nav/Radio would sometimes not work from Start up. I think this was due to limiting non essential power useage. Others times after going over a bump in the road the sound would stop. I removed the nav cd player and phone system as they dont work in AUZ. I'm not sure if this is connected to Battery drain at all. Wondered If I swap out the OEM NAV with a Dynavin will i still get Battery Drain from that circuit or are the units themselves (cd changer, oem head unit) drawing the power? Thanks for the information on the site it's always been a great place to learn |
