I Don't Race.. but Jeez

Long Story short, i beat a circa 06-07 325i...

Now none of this was meant to happen, but heres the story.

I pull up to a traffic light where the two left lanes MUST turn left. I'm on the left, said 325 is along my right side. I see that I need to get over to the right lane after the turn, so i give it a nice little push and get in front of the 325. This "kid" in the car had a freak out, and tail gated me so far that i could not see the entire hood of his car in my rearview mirror. he then veers off to the left lane at the next traffic light (i'm talking about a dangerous veer, almost hitting me)..

So now i'm a bit heated, wtf man, i'm not trying to race you, i just wanted to get in the right lane so i could make it to my normal Shell station for some fuel.

Anyway, i'm watching the redlight like a hawk now, no self respecting car fanatic will let a punk beat him like that, and i figured, hell i'd like to know if my 4.4 could take on a 325. So i gun it at green. Shit, this X5 is faster than i thought. Not that i "smoked" him, but i had a good car length on him at 60, before i hit the brakes (its a 35 mph zone).. He sped ahead, and then jammed on his brakes before next traffic light. As i pulled along side him, you could see his pissed off face of defeat.. I simply pointed to my 4.4i logo on the front quarter panel and said to myself, "suck my V8"

PS, he had a stock exhaust, but sounded like he took off resonators, it was awful sounding...

That's the only situation that makes me wish I had picked up a V8 model... glad you beat him. He sounded like a d-bag haha.

hehehe, the speed bug bites us all and wakes up the speed monster within...

Last time i did a "race" was couple of weeks ago, in VA beach. at the traffic light a new Range Rover pulls up... It is a cool looking rover, smaller than the big brother... so, at 1am, we are at the traffic light, he launches to the next light... I pull up nice and slow... my wife looks at me, like, WTF man, you forgot how to drive??? SMOKE HIM!!! oh boy, man do crazy things for women... turn off the DSC, throw gear into the S mode and at the green simply floor it - next patch between the lights evaporates faster than sweat off camel's back in Sahara... I think that RR has a six... maybe even 4!!! poor kid... needless to say that I did not go for another patch between the lights, after all, i had my kids sleeping in the back seat, and doing it once was too much already...

Several years ago I did take my 4.6iS upto 140 MPH once though - car was doing fine, but I chicken out!!!

When the 6 comes with 3 pedals its actually decently quick off the line, I've been pleasantly surprised since I got mine, it's no V8 though.

Naz good job keeping the hot head kids at bay though, seems like there's always someone who needs to race. I fill up at Shell too, good choice.

Bar A is quite the experience, if you really want to see juice, and an alternate reality, then you go to D'Jais... was there both nights this past weekend...

In general, people associate BMW drivers as jerks. My friend just got his first BMW, a nice E90 335i, all the sudden he is telling me how people just cut him off, rev-up at traffic light, snare at him, tail-gating, etc; and when he is driving his Toyota no one does that to him.

I am no jerk, my peeve pet is people who hangs at speed limit on the left lane (when the road is mile-and-mile open in front of him), then when I start passing him on the right he is punching it as well, to box me with another slower car on the right lane. What's up with that? If you want to go fast go fast on the left, I won't see you again for the rest of my life, I am good. if you want to stay relax and enjoy the ride hangs to the right, traffic there is plenty fast for most people.
