What is the best extended warranty to buy for an x5 4.4i or 4.6is with over 100k on the car?

Thanks!!

so many threads on this, but the 'best' of the moment change often.

Common Wisdom is you hafta' shop around and then try and determine what the exclusions are. With that knowledge, post your three 'best choices' and see if anyone has a no-joy reply to you.

But first, read the threads and see what and how exclusions are handled.

Also help to offer what you are willing to pay, but your own shopping should make that obvious when you post your top three choices.

No easy, post-a-one-liner and get all-set response to this question (though I have been wrong)

getcher koffee & good luck

I have Penn Warranty or SCM and haven't had to use them yet but, will be soon when my torque converter finally dies and or tranny craps. I've seen some poor reviews on PW for denying authorization or payment for parts and or labor where supposedly they are covered.
Example is for an internal engine problem....What they do is have you take the truck to a shop of your choosing. To find the problem the mechanic has to take the engine apart and find the problem. The shop calls the warranty company to start the claim, get authorization to repair it or replace the part. The claim adjuster will authorize (pay for) and search for a "used" high mileage replacement part from a wrecker yard. If a refurbished or remanufactured part is the only option, they cover the "used" part pricing and you are stuck with the balance. Oh, and the labor for the tear down to find the problem they wouldn't pay for leaving you and the shop hanging.

Labor is the biggest part of the bill and the warranty company only pays for a certain portion of the labor, the rest is on you!

I just Bought a warranty....from ...Pinnacle automotive Group ...Pinnacle Automotive Protection - Coverage .........what they cover for your SAV is base on your Mileage on your car.......they covered mine for the next 100k.....and i spoke to them and ask so many questions..that i believe its the best out there..pls do research it.....
my policy was $3500 for the next 100k miles or 5yrs...the 3500 is broken down into 2yrs...im paying $130/monthly and basically covers everything except wear and tear like tires brakes..........the lower your car mileage the better coverage you will have..if i knew..i shouldve said low miles as it could have covers my shocks..lol.....they dont suggest any of their shop....basically you take it to your trusted shop provide them with your coverage id and thats it!!...

the shop bills them directly with a credit card...as most dealer would ask that due to if your policy pays by company check.you would have to put up the money first and get re-imbursted ..this policy pays with Company Card so before you even take your car from the dealer they are paid already...you are allowed 3days of loaner per visit and $100 deductable..thats all you pay!!..you know what...here is what i have bast on SAV over 100k.....i have attach it........hope this helps..

Hey Paul.....just bought the warranty....about a week ago...now they make you wait 2months before you can use it.....just to make sure you dont get their service when your car is failing already...its just an assurance to them i guess...ill let you know once the waiting lapse....
