doesnt someone do coding for that? well to close the sunroof if the rain sensor detects rain?

Sure thing - as a matter of fact, i have that coding done on my car... i was saying, that when the car is turned off, and I am not in the vicinity, and the sunroof is open and then rain starts, the rain sensing thing does not work... I wish it was activated, just like the alarm is active when the owner is not in the car...

I hope my rambling made sense...

tried the rain sensing wipers today on the highway. The harder it rained the faster the wipers worked. I had no idea it did that. I'll mhave to try the sunroof thing next.

Your rear wiper, normally works intermittenly, but when the gear is in reverse, then the wiper is on constantly... just another piece of wiper trivia... lol...

It rained for the first time yesterday since I got my X. I thought I had the switch in position but nothing happened. I just read this thread and see I needed to activate it when I started the car, did not do that.

Just to recap. Switch in position 1 (intermittent) scroll speed wheel faster to slowest to activate?

the wipers reset to OFF when ignition is turned OFF... next time ignition is on, the wipers need to be "waken" up - either the stalk moved to position "0" and back to "1", or the knurly wheelie turned...

Thanks. I am concerned it might be a windshield issue. It was cracked when I test drove the car and was replaced by the dealer prior to delivery.

Rained again today still no auto & the delay is 5 seconds no matter where the wheel is.

Any insights before I get medieval on their a$$es?

you don't need rain to test the auto rain thingy... turn the engine one, wake up the wipers by moving the stalk to one notch up from resting position, the wipers should do a single sweep and then stop.

take a bottle of plain water and pour/sprinkle onto the rain sensor - the wipers should activate. if they don't, turn the knurly wheelie thingy down, to the lowest setting and try again, and then turn to the highest setting and try again...

let us know what happens...

Nada & the delay either does nothing runs at 5 second intervals or at medium speed.

Seems like I have a switch issue.
