Auxillary Fan/FSR not working after 2 months??

I was having issues with a parasitic battery drain, my auxillary fan didnt work and I would get a high pitched annoying chirping sound through the speakers when the fan was running.

With in the last two months I replaced the FSR first which stopped the battery drain then replaced the auxillary fan which gave me my AC back when the car was idle. the other day I went out to start the car and the battery was dead and when I did jump it I noticed the auxillary fan had stopped working and the chirping sound was back.

The FSR i replaced was the newer model (the metal prongs were not cone shaped) it was the first one I replaced and I have owned the car since 35000 miles (currently at 112,000). Is it possible that the FSR and auxillary fan have already shit the bed in less than two months?

The car is an 05 3.0

Any Suggestions?

Was it an OEM FSR? The E-Bay specials are JUNK!!! Mine lasted >6 months.

Are you guys talking about OE, or OEM? There is a difference that most seem to not understand.

Well aware of the difference, have found info here that both OE and OEM will last. The China made knock-offs fail.

FWIW, I went OE when the E-Bay special failed in under 6 mos, $110 from Ferman BMW on Hwy 19 in FLA.

the FSR is an OEM part and the fan is an aftermarket part made by VDO

would a bad FSR cause the auxillary fan to stop working?

Never had the aux fan issue but have heard a bad pressure switch will cause the issue.

would a bad pressure switch cause a parasitic drain on the battery and/or create the chirping i hear through the speakers?

The pressure switch controls the aux fan. A bad FSR will drain the battery. No ideas in regard to the chirp coming thru the audio system. Have you verified alternator output?
