I took a hair dryer to it, cleared most of it up except for the lateral side where the turn signal is, so I pulled the light and examine it. Melted/bad seals all over the lateral side. Here's some more pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd say beyond repair, would anyone else agree?

bad silicone plus the air vent tubs...reseal them with 3m silicone and replace those air vent with your stock one.the correct way to do is you have to bake those mofo open and reseal them.using hair dryer is too muck work, just use the table small fan and let it blow air into the high beam bulb .

Well, assuming I don't get anywhere with this dickhead, can I ship it to you and let you have at it? I'm starting back to school next week and really don't have the time to do this myself. I'm taking it to my Indy tomorrow (with a copy of this thread) to see if he can do anything. You don't happen to know any technically capable board members in the Charlotte area, do you?
Oh, couple of more pics. These are of my lights >3 hours after running my (newly, semi-repaired) headlight washers. ![]() ![]()

I agree, at least the fogged up one needs to go back. 10 years ago, our 2002 X5 had a fogged-up headlight unit. The dealer told us it's "normal" each time we brought it in to complain. Well yes, after 7 years of "FOG" and the car no longer under warranty that headlight got dimmer and dimmer over time. I replaced the bulb, same problem, swapped ballasts, same problem. Took apart the headlight, and take a look at what we found. The bright silver coating inside the headlight reflector was all corroded, dulled and pitted so the light would no longer shine brightly and focused - all caused by the moisture "fog". I had no recourse but to pay over $1K for a replacement headlight unit since the car was out of warranty and the dealer didn't want to hear about it. Don't let anyone tell you the "fog" is normal.
