Just on the off chance that what Simon (the seller) said is right about the seals needing to adjust to the environment, I'm going to hold off on the car wash for another week so I don't have to again go without a car for 10 days while he swaps them out.

I bought headlights back in the day for one of my VW's, made by DEPO brand. DEPO wasn't as good for VW's as it is for the BMWs back circa 2005, and I had problems with condensation right away. Recurring problems with condensation, not just "adjusting" to the environment.
Long story short one day i took out the hair dryer, added more clear silicone all around the headlight, let it set up over night, and never had condensation since then. Regardless of what the seller says, if they get condensation inside them its a problem with the seal.

Hi guys,
I'm actually having a same problem after the car wash. I contacted Simon and his response was pretty much fix it your self... Very disappointed with the product and the service. I have no problem with the right side, but the left sid always gets water leak after the car wash. Any suggestion? I'm sick and tired of getting water leak... |

File a dispute either through PayPal or your credit card and return the headlights. That's way too much to pay and hear "fix it yourself". Your better off going through your credit card. Buy a pair from a reputable company. Keystone is probably the best company for aftermarket parts. Not sure what the cost is from them but most body shops get their aftermarket light assemblies from them.
Good luck |

I started out nice at first, and as he became more and more defensive and insulting, I got firmer. Start by sending him pictures, he likes that... if he still denies it, threaten a chargeback. When I told him I'd be calling Amex he relented. Also ask for his phone number so that y'all can talk in real-time. He didn't seem to like that and never would give me his. But I found out he works at Speedster Source (google it). Here's what it looks like now that it's fixed: ![]() PS: Do NOT "fix it yourself." That's bullshit.... If he even suggests ways to "fix it yourself," refuse. Tell him you took it around to different shops in the area (think custom audio shops, those kind of places that specialize in aftermarket mods), and reiterate to him that they all told you it was a bad seal. Do NOT for a SECOND let him lead you to think this is "normal" and you should fix it yourself.

2 months later and no problems. Replaced those tacky "chrome" bulbs with amber ones for a more stock look. My next project may be retrofitting auto-leveling. Ideas?
