I want Strobes!

decieded to order some cheap chinease strobe light kit...
2 white and 2 amber
comes with module and wiring...

So im thinking of wiring this either to the kidneys or maybe in the bumper...

would be pretty cool to flip them on when the weather gets bad in new england.

any ideas on what to wire them to for power... the battery is in the trunk otherwise that would be my choice.... there is the red terminal used for jump starts.... maybe that? what you say guys?

I say you wire them to a garbage can before someone slaps you with a ticket worth 10 times those strobes.

Yea - I agree -this mod could go south very fast and you "may" get some sort of impersonating law enforcement ticket/charge. Remember there are plenty of LE out there in unmarked cars, undercover, etc. it's not just the ones in patrol cars to be worried about. I could envision LEO getting mighty upset if they see you and they are having a bad day.

Be Careful

...

Why not volunteer for the local FD; that will get you a strobe you can put on your dash, when you are making a run to a fire. Dangerous biz, though.

Skip the strobe idea for your NE bad weather driving...

Sign up for Firefighter 1 or an EMT class and get your certification. That way, you can legally get some strobes and also save some lives on the way.

When I was a volly firefighter, all I used were my hazards and high beams. Didn't do much to get people out of the way.

Once you fit and use them you'll be seeing lots of pretty red and blue strobes behind you.

Just curious, but why not just use your hazards in bad weather?

white and yellow should be ok but double check with your state laws to be safe... plenty of other SUVs here in NE Ohio with white/yellow strobes usually when assisting other vehicles that are stuck or broke down...
